This Girl Can

This ad does its job well. I might actually be more inclined to workout after this and what a breath of fresh air it is not to see perfectly sculpted figures running up abandoned stadium stairs.

Jaded Oscar Predictions 2015

This is the first year that I “don’t care,” about the Oscars. Not only has the magic waned and perhaps I have become jaded like the rest of my industry colleagues, but the subjectivity of it all has me a bit down in the award season dumps.

However, not all is lost.

Based off of what I’ve seen and what we’ve seen so far at The Golden Globes and BAFTA nominations coupled with other guild nominations and awards, I’m still going to take a stab at guessing the top 10 films to possibly snag a Best Picture nomination.

In no particular order:

  1. Boyhood
  2. Birdman
  3. Grand Budapest Hotel
  4. Imitation Game
  5. American Sniper
  6. Whiplash
  7. Foxcatcher
  8. Theory of Everything
  9. Selma
  10. !?!?!!?

I honestly can’t think of a 10th contender but on the short list I’d include surprisingly Guardians of the Galaxy, Into the Woods, Gone Girl and even Nightcrawler.

This year is anyone’s year I say. I’m just really hoping Selma gets some love.

Nominations are announced 830AM ET on January 15.

A Fistful of Wolves

In 2014 I’ve come to admire the work of Danny Sangra and wondered if him signing with AllDayEveryDay would compromise his creative freedom by joining the world of commercial advertising. But his latest film for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin contradicts my fear and instills hope for both his upcoming feature film and branded commercial work as well.

A Fistful of Wolves:

From Danny:

A short film I made for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin.
Poking fun at the many ‘faux motional’ styled fashion adverts. The film depicts a man trapped in a world of fashion, while his friends wonder what has happened to him.
Starring Justin O’Shea, Veronika Heilbrunner, Julia Knolle, Gabriel Chipperfield & Raphael Chipperfield
Car: Mercedes-Benz C111, 1970

Here’s to one day hoping his team will produce a short of mine ;D

Reading in Pine

Briskly walking against the chilling winds from the library and toward my apartment, Margaret and I decided to stop and take a mini photo shoot with a pile of discarded pine trees. That’s right, one does not have to climb up a tree to read in them ;D

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset

The leaves of pine were surprisingly fluffy and comfortable to lay back into.
