Roosevelt Island

Last Saturday I took a tram ride over to Roosevelt Island and it was quite lovely to do so!

  1. So, my girlfriend and I are planning on coming to NYC during spring break for a few days. Splitting our time between there and Boston. We do not want to do typical touristy things in NYC. Would traveling on the tram over to Roosevelt Island count as non-touristy? Any suggestions?

  2. I don’t consider the Roosevelt Island tram too touristy. It only costs a subway swipe and I went on a Saturday evening with maybe only 10 other people to share the tram with. It’s worth the view, especially at sunrise or sunset! Some not so touristy food stops you should try are Rubirosa or Spunto shops in SoHo, Shake Shack at Battery Park City or Mooncake Foods in Hell’s Kitchen. Brooklyn has loads to offer and you’ll definitely enjoy the bridge and Manhattan skyline from Brooklyn Bridge Park. Also, Flavorpill has really good insights of stuff to do around the city. Good luck!
