Last night I was privy to a WGA sponsored screening of first time feature screenwriter Bob Nelson’s upcoming film NEBRASKA – directed by Alexander Payne (The Descendants, Sideways).

I was skeptical at first, being from the midwest, wondering how’d they paint so-called “flyover country” for mass audiences, but I wasn’t disappointed. It was a frustrating, comedic and heartfelt story about a father and son, aging parents, and how we grapple with the question as old as time itself: why are we even here?
