I didn’t have much hope for my first 4th of July in NYC, but it couldn’t have been better. Took a train to Chelsea and grabbed a burger and Heineken at The Diner with my internship buddy before heading down to catch the Macy’s Fireworks display on the Hudson. I found it odd how the police barricaded access to the show west of 10th Ave, but we finally made it to 27th street and joined the congestion of onlookers. And although we were forced to watch only a sliver of the display between the tall New York high rises, every once and a while we did catch a glimpse of something amazing. Yay fireworks!
