[movie] trailer tuesday ::

"Friday the 15th we made sail with the morning tide…" and thus begins this epic trailer for Cloud Atlas. I don't quite understand it, but I know I want to see it. Interesting cast, made by the Matrix's Wachowski brothers and seemingly inspirational.

I wonder if I should read the book first. Normally I'd say yes, but this film looks so beautifully crafted that I kind of want the story to unfold before my eyes on the screen instead of on the book pages between my fingers…

Happy [Movie] Trailer Tuesday ::

Aside from the Superman teaser and a black screen with white type declaring, "There was never just one," ARGO was the trailer that left me whispering, "I wanna see that one!" to my movie mate while awaiting the epic opening scene of The Dark Knight Rises. Give me cinema and espionage any day!

The Dark Knight Trilogy Trailer ::

Going to go see The Dark Knight Rises today (finally) and my frustrations and sympathies go out to the families in Colorado. They just wanted to see a movie, go an adventure, have their escape, but instead over a dozen lost their lives when all they wanted to have was a good time. I hope this tragedy doesn't ruin the magic of going to the movies, but I won't be surprised if what happened in Aurora, Colorado lingers in the back of our minds as we continue on our cinematic jaunts…

The Dark Knight Rises NYC Premiere ::

As luck will have it, I work a stone's throw away from where The Dark Knight Rises NYC premiere took place. So after my shift, I ran on home, grabbed my DSLR and hurried back down to the Upper West Side. After much surveying of the crowd, brief talks with police and security and commandeering a median park bench, I found myself with my zoom lens capturing the stars as they graced the black carpet. Celeb sightings included Bale, Morgan Freeman, Ron Howard, Juno Temple, Marion Cotillard, Anne Hathaway, that guy from Gossip Girl, Aziz Ansari, Pharrell, Donald Trump, Michelle Thratchenberg and Tom Hardy to name few. It was muggy, it was fun and it was essentially a New York moment. Let's just say if I had stayed in Kansas, I wouldn't have been able to experience such awesomeness as I did this evening. Now all that's left is to finally see the third installment of Nolan's Batman trilogy. So excited!
