How to Make a Music Video :: Film Riot

Just as I shared with you <a href=" http://mkqi.posterous.com/-how-to-cut-a-pineapple“>how to properly cut a pineapple because it was a life skills lesson I had never come by, I encourage you to watch below on how to make a music video if you don't already know how. Yes, I am currently in the throws of trying to produce a music video and let's just say I'm kicking myself in the post-production butt at the moment for not knowing some essential fundamentals. In short, lesson learned.

That’s the Real Obsession :: All Those Stories

"But the thing about remembering is that you don't forget. You take your material where you find it, which is in your life, at the intersection of past and present. The memory-traffic feeds into a rotary up on your head, where it goes in circles for a while, then pretty soon imagination flows in and the traffic merges and shoots off down a thousand different streets. As a writer, all you can do is pick a street and go for the ride, putting things down as they come to you. That's the real obsession. All those stories."

Alcatraz :: Fox Fall Preview

Yet another JJ Abrams piece of television gold (yes, I'm predicting that) comes in the form of 'Alcatraz.' This time, we're trying to keep people on the island. The premise centers around 300 prisoners that "vanished" from the walls of the infamous Alcatraz that supposedly shut it's doors in 1963. The catch is, one by one the prisoners start to reappear in modern society, unchanged, and committing crimes once more. How do you solve such a case? Therein lies the mystery that draws us in.

In classic JJ style, we have the female lead, Sara Jones playing Dr. Rebecca Madsen. Also along for the ride are familiar faces Jorge Garcia (LOST) playing Dr. Diego "Doc" Soto and Parminder Nagra (ER) playing Lucy Banerjee…I am excited to see Parminder outside County General (viva ER!) But enough of that. I just hope one of JJ's shows stays on the air this season. It was sad to see UNDERCOVERS go so early last fall, but perhaps with CBS airing PERSONS OF INTEREST (Michael Emerson and Jim Caviezel) and FOX nabbing ALCATRAZ, we can be seeing a lot of JJ's shows very soon. And mind you, FRINGE is still on the air too!

Prime Suspect :: NBC Fall Preview

Saw a commercial spot for this new show sliding into NBC's 2011 fall schedule. Taking it's moniker straight from it's British older sister that starred Helen Mirren, the peacock network's Prime Suspect features the return of Mario Bello to primetime television. The gist is this: woman trying to make it in a boy's club. And while the story boards look good, I think a show of this nature would have more effect or profound social commentary if it had come out in the late 80s or early 90s…but I digress. Check it out for yourself.
